As with the world-changing rise of Musk (accurately predicted since 2012), A.I. and the imminent birth of AGI (artificial general intelligence) are part of what we’ve been closely tracking as a future-impacting, fork-in-the-road moment for humanity. In December 2024, we are seeing both Musk and AGI detonating simultaneously.
Everyone can see the situation with Musk (no longer not just the world’s richest man but close to becoming the world’s most powerful man). The “birth of AGI” situation, on the other hand, is less visible yet definitely… well, its water broke just the other day.

…when OpenAI unveiled its latest A.I. model “o3”.
Is it AGI? Some say yes, others say no. Most seem to agree this is a giant step towards AGI.

Plenty of people are saying o3 is artificial general intelligence (AGI), or at least a soft form of AGI. Chollet denies the claim [saying] beating ARC-AGI was a necessary but not sufficient condition to claim AGIness, and that there’s still research to do.
I’m not sure what to think. […] What I know is that my priors won’t survive this reckoning. This is something else. OpenAI o3 is a message from the future: update everything you think you know about AI. I got the message.

We’re crossing a major threshold as we make our transition from 2024 to 2025 and it’s by design per “as above, so below”.
